His expertise spans vision science, neuroscience, nutrition, and physiology, with a career that includes leading research at world-class institutions such as Harvard University, The Duke Eye Center, The University of Georgia, and the Air Force Research Laboratory. He has delivered more than 500 invited lectures worldwide, collaborated with diverse clinical populations from AMD patients to elite military personnel and professional athletes, and authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications.
